45° CV for Lifted Trucks & Jeeps

Posted by : Jim Reel / On : October 27, 2026 / In : Article
45 CV JE Reel

JE Reel’s new 45-degree CV is built for extreme-lift trucks and Jeeps that need more driveline angle, more suspension travel, and a stronger CV than standard 32-degree units. Production is underway, with availability expected in the first half of December.

Built for Extreme Lifts

Most competing CVs operate at roughly 32 degrees. That works for many builds, but extreme lifts with long-travel coilovers and 12–16 inches of down travel can exceed the CV’s usable angle.

The JE Reel 45° CV gives lifted Jeep and truck owners the additional operating angle needed to use their suspension fully—without relying on limit straps to protect the driveline.

Forged Chrome-Moly Strength

JE Reel’s 45° CV is made from forged chrome moly. Unlike cast components, forging creates a denser, stronger part suited to hard off-road use, high torque, and repeated articulation.

The flange also includes a full-size grease zerk, allowing you to properly grease the center gimbal with a standard grease gun. This improves serviceability and helps the CV last longer than designs with small, restrictive grease buttons.

Proven Before Production

JE Reel tested the 45° CV for more than 11 weeks at 8 hours per day and 3,000 RPM continuous. After testing, the unit was disassembled and inspected, with no wear concerns identified.

The CVs were then installed on Tony Pellegrino’s GenRight build and Mel Wade’s Off-Road Evolution build, with one unit front and rear on each vehicle. Those rigs have accumulated approximately 14,000 to nearly 20,000 miles of trail and hard use before JE Reel approved production.

Key Features

  • 45-degree operating angle for extreme-lift and long-travel builds
  • Forged chrome-moly construction for superior strength
  • Full-size grease zerk for proper CV serviceability
  • Designed to help drivers use more suspension travel without limiting the driveline
  • Tested at 3,000 RPM for more than 11 weeks, eight hours daily
  • Trail-proven on GenRight and Off-Road Evolution vehicles
  • Expected availability in the first half of December
